PM Nawaz Sharif Forms A Committee To Release Indian Films In Pakistan

Since the URI attacks, relations between India and Pakistan are not getting any better. India banned Pakistani artists post the rising conflict and Pakistan in return banned Bollywood movies. Pakistani cinemas faced huge loss since we don’t produce enough movies. Cinemas then resumed screening of Indian films last month, but Indian distributors were reluctant to screen their films in Pakistan which did not worked in favor of our cinema.

Recent reports suggest, Indian movies might return to Pakistan soon because Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday constituted a committee to look into the matter. Nawaz Sharif has formed a special committee comprising of Maryam Aurangezeb, Azmat Ranjha, Irfan Siddiqui and the Film Censor Board Chairman Mubashar Hassan, who will all be part of the committee that will give clearance to Indian movies.

According to Images, the information ministry, in consultation with the commerce ministry, has prepared a procedure for allowing import of two to three Indian movies per month through NOCs for their screening in Pakistani cinemas. So, Fans of Mahira can excite now because this might be a positive turn for the release of Raees in Pakistan.
