Popular Lahore-based thespian Soha Ali has accused producer Arshad Chaudhry of raping her. She registered a complain and accused the producer Arshad for raping her and threatening her for any action. She is seeking justice and has already reported it to Lahore CCPO.
According to The Express Tribune, Soha had submitted an application to the Lahore CCPO, she claimed Arshad had threatened her of extreme consequences if she dared to complain against him. She said he had also threatened to kill her children in the event of such a development.
While officials have confirmed the submission of an application to the effect, no complaint has been registered nor has Soha been provided with security. “It’s not just me. Arshad has raped so many girls who approach him for work,” Soha told The Express Tribune.
A police official speaking on the condition said that force has been looking into the matters as such accusations are often reported. “This sort of mudslinging is pervasive in Lahore’s theatre community. We will take action after thoroughly probing the matter,” the official said.
Speaking more about the case, Soha said she will not withdraw the application, and will approach the IGP and the chief minister for justice. The accused producer Arshad, has been unavailable for comments so far.
