Yasir Nawaz to play Naseer ud Din Shah’s role in remake of “Masoom”

The 1983 family block buster “Masoom” is now being recreated in the the form of a Pakistani drama by Master Mind productions, written by Sophia Khurram and directed by Shehzad Rafique.

The iconic role of Naseer us Din Shah will be played by none other than the actor cum director Yasir Nawaz. He has said that he has mixed feelings about going ahead with this role, as recreating a role played by the exceptional Shah himself is no easy feat. However, it is an honour to be selected for a such a legendary character, who is a loving father and husband, when his past mistake comes to haunt him in the form of a preteen son. Torn between his parental responsibility to his son and the peace and happiness of his wife and two daughters, he experiences many stages of guilt, loss, grief and indecisiveness, before life comes full circle.

The role of Shabana Azmi is being played by the talented Sabreen Hisbani. If you have grown up in the 1980s and 1990s being a masoom fan, you will be looking forward to this drama eagerly.
