Parents are the building blocks of a human being. How one is brought up affects one’s life till their death and parents play a very important role in how your life turns out. Unfortunately, the parents we see in Pakistani dramas are generally for making tea or getting a heart attack but at times, the makers do put some effort and make parental characters that inspire and teach the audience how a parent should behave in crisis and stand by their children.
We currently saw some great parents on our screens and here is a list so you can appreciate them as well:
Nofil’s Father In Zard Patton Ka Bunn
Syed Mohammad Ahmed is known as the best father in the Pakistani television industry. He does not like to play these characters but he ends up becoming the cute father who dies of a heart attack in nearly every second drama. In Zard Patton Ka Bunn, the actor is playing Dr Nofil’s father and he is someone others should aspire to be like. He understands his child’s challenges and advises him. He stands by his son’s decisions and never brushes off his feelings. The best part is how he lets his son be vulnerable and emotional in front of him. Syed Mohammad Ahmed has nailed the character and he is definitely one of the best on-screen parents right now.
Meenu’s Father In Zard Patton Ka Bunn
Syed Tanveer plays Maimoona aka Meenu’s father in Zard Patton Ka Bunn. Ustad Bhoora, a man who never got any formal education and lives in a regressive society is a beacon of hope for his daughter who wants to conquer the world. He is a girl dad that we want to see on our television screens. He stands by his daughter’s conviction, supports her right to education and did not force her to marry a man she did not like. He is Meenu’s biggest support and definitely a father we would like to see more on screen.
Sharjeena’s Parents In Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum
Sharjeena and Mustafa are the talk of the town these days as Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum trends on YouTube. People are loving both the lead characters but this show has one of the best supporting cast. The characters are well-developed and with purpose. Sharjeena’s parents are very inspiring characters from the drama. They are extremely supportive of their daughter and they want her to stand on her own feet. They are also realistic and that is how the girl’s parents should be shown in a drama and not who die at the drop of a hat.
Zara’s Parents In Jafaa
Zara is a very strong girl who is a doctor and she is still making sacrifices to save her marriage. Her role is very inspiring and close to reality but her parents played by Shamyl Khan and Farah Sadia took the cake. These are parents who stand by their daughter and are fighting misogyny of society. They got their daughter’s education and they were not afraid of her divorce. They only want her to be safe and not get back in a coffin, a mindset that needs to be propagated strongly in our society.
Numair’s Mother In Jafaa
Dr Numair is the most beloved male character on television these days. Jafaa is getting a lot of love and his bond with his mother is what needs to be appreciated. Laila Zuberi played a mom that is realistic and a mother we actually see in our real lives. She hated her daughter-in-law when she felt deceived but she did not turn into a vamp. She is a parent who stood by her son’s love and choice and she is now helping her daughter-in-law to settle in her new home. A sweet woman who is neither a saint nor a sinner but only human.
Zarnab’s Father In Gentleman
Zarnab played by Yumna Zaidi in Gentleman is a strong woman who has stood in front of the mafia. She draws this strength from her father who is supporting his daughter on every turn. Her job, her decision to marry Munna Iqbal and everything else is strongly supported by her father. He even played a crucial role in Dilbar and Munna’s lives and helped them understand themselves. Khaled Anum is playing a great character in Gentleman and he needs to be appreciated for bringing a strong and positive father on screens.
Husan Ara’s Mother In Jaan Se Pyara Juni
Hira Mani plays a very complex character of Husan Ara in Jaan Se Pyara Juni. You neither like nor dislike her and she has done a great job in the role. Her mother played by Rabia Abid Ali is also a parent that needs to be shown more on the television. She loves her daughter wholeheartedly and she never leaves her alone in any circumstances. She shows how a parent should support their kids in their mistakes as well as triumphs.
Ghaznavi’s Mother In Jaan Nisar
Nosherwan Gaznavi is getting all the love in Jaan Nisar. His mother played by Hina Bayat is no less as she has played a very graceful and supportive mother. She understood her son’s ordeal when he was forced to marry his brother’s widow. She supported him when he found love in Dua and she has been his pillar through everything alongside her son.
Hunaid & Safina From Noor Jahan
Hunaid and Safina had both their weaknesses. Hunaid was a terrible husband and a man who was brought up with hate inside him. He hated girl children and felt they were not good enough. Safina on the other hand was a woman who did not have the strength to stand up for herself but for their baby Insia, they both became juggernauts and supported their little one and did not let even Noor Jahan mistreat her.
Yousuf Chacha From Mann Jogi
Mann Jogi is a beautiful tale of real people. Syed Tanveer once again makes the list and this time a father figure who empowers and supports his children even in the face of death. He supported and protected his own daughter Anita and made her a woman who does not need anyone in her life while he supported Aliya in adversity. He believed her as she was his own daughter when her own brother could not. A beautiful character which depicts what a father is and that a parent is someone who stands by you like a parent despite not being related to you by blood.
