Ali Zafar is a mega star in Pakistan who has a global audience. He has given great films, great music and he has worked with many artists in both fields. He is also an accomplished painter and his fans love him for everything he does. Ali Zafar is one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry but a few years ago, he became a part of a big controversy. Fellow singer Meesha Shafi had accused Ali of harassing her and the duo has fought the legal battle on this for years now with no outcome in sight.
Ali had defended himself when that happened on the media and in the court of law. His wife Ayesha Fazli has always stood by him and his family was a big support for him. His mother Dr Kanwal Ameen is an educationist and she is a well-known name in the education community of Pakistan. She was a guest on Hafiz Ahmed’s podcast where she talked about problems encountered by women in education and her own family. She also answered a question regarding the effects Meesha-Ali case had on her family.
Dr Kanwal Ameen said that she is an activist for women’s rights way before it was considered cool and she always tried to inculcate those values in her children. The tweet by Meesha was indeed shocking for her and the whole family suffered a lot. She said that she could not understand how she will go teach her students at the university the next day. She applauded Ali for being strong through it all and she was proud of her daughter-in-law who remained a rock throughout this. She shared that they also had to shield Ali’s children from this mess.
