The Drama serial Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 has been making waves ever since it started airing on the TV. The reason behind its massive and wide viewership is the anticipation that was build up when the drama was being shot. The moment since the news of this drama was surfaced, the fans of Khuda Aur Mohabbat’s novel and series knew they were going to have something very special to watch.
Now that the drama is on air, it can be totally seen how much hard work and effort has been put into making it a visual treat. The production value of the drama shows how grand and big-budgeted this project is. The story of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 is set in Lahore and Bahawalpur with some references to Multan. However, the drama itself has been shot in 4 different cities such as Lahore, Karachi, Bhawalpur as well as Multan. This also explains why it took so much time for the drama to complete because the entire cast had to shoot in different locations.
The series of Khuda Aur Mohabbat has always had a very different vibe and feel to it, with locations being the contributing factor to it. The fact that the story is set in a culturally rich town also brings in the warmth and rustic feel to it, which usually is not seen in the dramas that are shot in one metropolitan city. The previous seasons of Khuda Aur Mohabbat also had that feel because they were shot in these cities too. The location has always played a very important part in the Khuda Aur Mohabbat series and this is exactly why, with everything being so grand, the viewers are getting to see all those beautiful aerial shots of different landmarks of the cities throughout the drama.
Here is the list of shooting locations of the drama serial Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3:
The Railway Station (Bahawalpur)
The Khuda Aur Mohabbat series is incomplete without the scenes shot at the Railway stations. In this season, the railway station that has been shown in the initial episodes is the Bahawalpur Railway Station, which is absolutely stunning and has a beautiful structure. Bahawalpur is known as the City of Palaces, therefore the new construction and facade of the building resemble the look of the palaces to pay tribute to the palaces that are within the vicinity of Bahawalpur. The construction of the new building started off in 2017 and was completed and inaugurated by September 2019. There is no denying the fact that the aerial shots of the Bahawalpur Railway Station are breathtaking and add more visual charm to the drama. At this location, Iqra Aziz, Sunita Marshal, Feroze Khan and Mirza Zain Baig have shot a couple of scenes.
Rida’s House (Karachi)
Mahi’s friend Rida’s character has been played by Meherbano. She happens to be the daughter of Nisar, the character played by Javaid Sheikh. This house which is shown as Rida’s father’s house is actually located in Karachi. This is the house that has been seen in many dramas before such as Jalan, Muqaddar, Mere Pass Tum Ho and is now currently seen in Fitoor as well as Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3. It might come as a surprise but this house actually belongs to the TV drama actress Sonia Rehman and her husband. This information was revealed while she was hosting an interview with Feroze Khan at her home. She explained how hard her husband had to work in order to build their dream home and Feroze Khan was all praises for it as well.
Farhad’s House (Lahore)
They have shot this entire sequence in the old city of Lahore. The walled houses with the joint terraces of the neighbors have brought to life the perfect essence of the old city Lahore to the screens. The scenes which show Naheed played by Momina Iqbal teasing Farhad every now and then and interacting with him over the boundary wall of the terrace is something that a lot of people who have lived in that vicinity would be able to relate to. All the scenes of Farhad and his family, played by Feroze Khan, Asma Abbas, Waseem Abbas, Hira Soomro as well as those frames where he is seen roaming in the narrow residential streets are all shot in the old city Lahore. It is interesting how the director has stayed true to the essence of what life is like in the happening old city of Lahore.
Mahi’s Residence (Bahawalpur)
The house in which Mahi is shown to be living with her family is actually a palace in the city of Bahawalpur. The name of it is Gulzar Mahal which was built in 1906 and its construction was completed in 1909. It was constructed during the reign of Sadiq Mohammad Khan and was built for the female members of the royal family. This palace has been leased by the armed forces since 1966 and is not open to the general public. However, a part of it was allotted to the production team of Khuda Aur Mohabbat and that is where all the scenes of Mahi and her family are shot. It is a beautiful structure and there is no denying the fact that just as much as the interiors are beautiful, the exterior is mesmerizing and looks magical on-screen. Both the male and female sections of the palace which have been shown in Khuda Aur Mohabbat are absolutely beautiful.
The Shrine (Multan)
The series of Khuda Aur Mohabbat is also incomplete without the touch of spirituality to it. In the previous seasons they relied on simple and humble mosques to bring in that element but this time around, the director wanted to add more visual impact therefore he picked the iconic Tomb of Shah Rukn e Alam which is located in Multan. The structure is not only beautiful but has so much detail to it that it leaves you spellbound. The tomb belongs to Shah Rukne Alam an eminent Sufi saint, who was the son of Pir Sadar al Din Arif. He was born in Multan on 26 November 1251 and died on 3 January 1335. He was the grandson and successor of Sheikh Baha ud din Zakariya. The tomb was built between 1320 and 1324 CE in the pre-Mughal architectural style. The tomb is said to have built by Ghias-ud-Din Tughlak. This tomb is revered and sees thousands of visitors every year. All the scenes of Darvesh, played by Noor ul Hassan have been shot here and it seems the viewers will get to see more of it when Farhad too will start walking the path of self-discovery and spirituality. Mirza Zain Baig along with Junaid Khan as well as Hina Bayat have shot their scenes at Shah Rukn e Alam, Multan.
The Meeting Point of Farhad’s Friends (Lahore)
The meeting point of Farhad’s friends is at an iconic and beautiful location in Lahore. It is just outside the vicinity of Badshahi Masjid and is right in front of the sitting area of the infamous Haveli Restaurant Lahore, which is located in Food Street. The view of this particular spot is spectacular because on one side there is this beautiful and vibrant colored building of the Haveli Restaurant and on the other side, there is this spellbinding structure of Badshahi Masjid. These scenes are special in their own way because of the landmark they have been shot at.
