Hamid Rana is a brilliant Pakistan television and theater actor who rose to fame through his blockbuster PTV series Son Chandi. His chemistry with co-actor Chandi, played by Sheeba Hassan became talk of the town and the show turned out to be an instant hit. Sona Chandi was written by acclaimed Pakistani writer Munnu Bhai and it was directed by Badar Khalil’s husband Shahzad Khalil. Sona Chandi became one of the most-watched television drama serials of its time in Pakistan. His other notable dramas include Ya Naseeb Clinic and Girja. Besides acting, Hamid Rana served Pakistan government services.
Lately, Hamid Rana made an appearance in Neo News’ popular show Zabardast with Wasi Shah. In the show, Hamid Rana talked about his life struggles and grieving moments. He also shared details of his mother’s death and the most bitter life memory when he had nothing to eat.
Talking about his mother, Hamid Rana said, The most sad part of my life was my mother’s passing. It was the most painful time for me. I once went to the village along with my wife to meet my mother, she called me near her and slapped me with love, she said, ‘I was just craving for this’, you remember these things after you lose your loved ones. Hamid Rana further said that her mother used to pray for him till her last breath. He said, “the last thing I remembered about my mother was her complaint to me when our father passed away, she said, ‘Hamid My companion has left me’, it was quite emotional for me”. He also shared the most painful and bitter memory of his life. Hamid Rana said the toughest time in his life was the time when he had nothing to eat for three days and he was starving in pain and was looking at the sky, and at that time he got a realization from Allah that’s he is very special to Allah and will be rewarded with something special in life.
