Talking about parents reaction after divorce, Masarrat Misbah said, “My mother just accepted me with open arms; she showered love on me. My father called all my sisters and said, “Now, I will marry off my daughters after they complete their education.” He asked me if I wanted to work or to study further. He wanted me to be strong, to move on and overcome. But my mother showered immense love on me; she used to be with me all the time. I loved her beautiful, loving gestures”. She further added, “my mother was surprisingly aware of all my hardships even if I used to hide things from her regarding my personal life. She used to get worried, but my father was more practical; he wanted things to be sorted out properly”

She also said, “In my tough times, my mother used to call me even before our mandatory call timings. I would ask if she was fine, but she was only worried about me. Now, how could I tell her how much abuse I experienced on a daily basis? Her daily calls helped heal my physical and emotional pain. They were a big support for me at that time”.
