The showbiz industry in South Asia especially has a high tendency of generational stars. People from certain families get in the business and give it their best to become stars. Some families have been producing stars in both acting and singing for over 3-4 generations now. Pakistani showbiz industry much like the neighbouring India also has showbiz families with children carrying on the legacy of their artist parents. The latest crop of incoming stars also has a lot of names with star parents and these younger kids are trying to take their family legacy forward. Here is a list of the next generation of Pakistani stars who will be taking on their parents’ legacy.
Ahad Raza Mir & Adnan Raza Mir
Asif Raza Mir is a big star of Pakistan and he still holds the charisma that he had in the golden era of PTV. He also served the industry as a producer and made some big projects. He is now back as an actor and producer after a break and he is once again giving characters like Peeral in Jhok Sarkar. His sons Ahad Raza Mir and Adnan Raza Mir are all set to take the baton with Ahad making waves both nationally and internationally while Adnan has also just made his debut successfully with a second lead in Fairytale.
Hamza Sohail
Hamza Sohail is another young entrant in the industry. His father Sohail Ahmed is a legend of Pakistan. He has served in all mediums of entertainment and given us some of the best projects to come out of the country. He has successfully navigated both Urdu and Punjabi projects and his stint as Azizi is iconic. His son is now working in dramas and recently starred with Sajal Aly in Zard Patton Ka Bunn.
Shahzaman Ali Khan
Shahzaman Ali Khan cones from the Fateh Ali Khan house of music. This family has served arts and music and given a lot to the legacy of Pakistani arts in their lifetime. From Ustad Fateh Ali Khan to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, now comes Shahzaman Ali Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s son. He has made his debut with OST of Bismil and he is also already singing at concerts worldwide vying to make a mark of his own like his forefathers.
Bahisht Shaan Shahid
Shaan Shahid is the biggest film star of Pakistan. His mother Neelo Begam and his father Riaz Shahid are both huge names in films and Shaan later broke all the family records with the kind of success he saw. He is still regarded as the only superstar from films in the current era and now his daughter is all set to take his legacy forward. Bahisht Shaan Shahid has done fashion shoots, music video and she wants to work in films too.
Essa Arsalan
Essa Arsalan is a new entrant in the industry. He will be joining the film industry with his Punjabi movie Lalkara Singh In Lahore. Essa is Shaan Shahid’s nephew and grandson of Neelo Begam. He also wants to make a mark n films like his uncle Shaan did and is all set for his debut.
Danyal Zafar
Danyal Zafar is brother to superstar Ali Zafar. Ali Zafar made a mark as an actor, singer and then a film producer. He is a sort after name in Pakistan and people love him and long to see him perform. His brother Danyal Zafar has also followed his footsteps and he is already creating his own music and also appearing in dramas with his last Standup Girl turning out to be a big hit with the masses.
Haroon Kadwani
Haroon Kadwani is also a new entrant in the drama industry. He is a few projects old but his father, ace producer Abdullah Kadwani is giving him the perfect projects that are gaining ratings and Haroon is slowly making a name for himself. He has also studied film in New York and has big plans for the future.
Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz
Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz is the second generation of artists from his family. His father Naumna Ijaz is hands down the best in business. Though Nauman was reluctant to bring his son into acting, but he let him follow his passion and Zaviyar is doing dramas now.
Aashir Wajahat & Nayel Wajahat
Aashir and Nayel Wajahat are following in the footsteps of their producer/director parents Wajahat Rauf and Shazia Wajahat. They started as children and now they are into music and acting. They are for sure taking the legacy forward and their latest song Sadqay made records with its great performance.
Laraib Atta
Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi is a legend of Pakistan and his unmatched contribution to music will remain alive through centuries. His daughter however has carved her own path and she is also a celebrated artist. Laraib Atta is a VFx artist and she has worked in big Hollywood films like Mission Impossible Fall Out. She is great in her field and she is shining through her own hard work.
Azaan Sami Khan
Azaan Sami Khan is the son of Zeba Bakhtiyar and Adnan Sami Khan. He is a humble artist who has worked hard and given some of the most beautiful music in the last few years. He is doing great and he is for sure making his star parents proud. He has also started acting and despite being a newbie, his dramas have performed well.
