Pakistani dramas have garnered a huge international acclaim. The local dramas are now cherished by audiences worldwide. Well, these acclaimed dramas aren’t always perfectly written and executed. We often see many flaws in the dramas in the form of bad execution, continuity issues, inappropriate casting and low production. Lately, the drama makers are making the mistakes with the casting as well.
Most of the drama makers are now casting the renowned middle-aged actors in parental roles. Actors like Kashif Mehmood, Zainab Qayyum, Amir Qureshi, Aly Khan, Laila Wasti, Mehmood Aslam, Omair Rana, Sohail Sameer, Shamyl Khan, Nauman Ijaz are being given the characters of parents. Although, these actors have the passion for work and perfectly transitioned into the parents of protagonists who are above thirty but the viewers didn’t like them as parents of the mature actors. The audience and the actors are of the view that the appropriate casting brings seasoned actors to the forefront and it also enhances the storytelling.

Rehan Sheikh recently appeared in Green Entertainment’s Ramadan transmission. In the transmission, he replied to the question about playing father’s character. Rehan Sheikh said that he does not mind playing the character of father but the character should have some substance. Now, they cast the actors just because they need a father for a character, which doesn’t offer much to the audience.
Aijazz Aslam
Aijaz Aslam said that he can even become the father of anyone including Nadia Khan, but the character should be impactful.
Nadia Khan
