Sanam Saeed is one of the biggest and most intelligent stars in Pakistan. She has always managed to do uplifting and intelligent content and stay away from mindlessness and people love her work and style. Sanam is married to actor Mohib Mirza and though the couple is living happily, she has seen her fair share of grief, heartbreaks and losses in the past.
Sanam was speaking for the British Asian Trust which works to provide help for mental health. The actress raised awareness in an interview with journalist Aamna Haider Isani and also spoke about how times have changed and what is contributing to the increased divorces in the country. She pointed out some positive evolution we have seen in women’s rights and how it has helped them to protect themselves better.
She said that today women are more financially independent and know their rights. This was not the practice in the past and women mostly were dependent on men for their financial needs. Many a times they did not have another support even if they were in toxic relationships. This has changed now and girls stand up for themselves which has also contributed towards the increased percentage of divorces.
