Saqlain Mushtaq is a former Pakistani right arm off-break spin bowler and cricket coach. He is recently, the head coach of the Pakistani national cricket team. He is famous for inventing the “doosra” which is a leg break delivery bowled with an off break action. He was the fastest bowler to reach the milestones of 200 and 250 wickets in ODIs. Saqlain Mushtaq has two daughters and a son.
Recently, he appeared in Nadir Ali’s podcast where he revealed details about his daughter’s marriage. He said, “Shadab’s family sent the proposal, it happened in few days, I was of the view that I would do my daughter’s marriage early, Shadab’s mother came to us, she said, ‘even if someone is a beggar or a king, he has to search his daughter’s match and get her married, it’s Allah’s will too and I won’t leave your house until you would say yes’, I replied to her, ‘you do Istikhara (seek guidance from Allah through prayers) and I will also do Istikhara’. He further revealed that it happened like that and he solemnized his daughter’s Nikah. He further said that the Nikah was solemnized on the day when there was a blackout in Pakistan. He said, “Shadab Khan is a very good guy, I closely watched him and he’s the one who offers prayers and used to gather us for prayers”. Saqlain Mushtaq talked in detail about his son in law.
