The ongoing political uncertainty has severely affected the theaters in Lahore and release of Pakistani films. Dukhtar to be released on 14th August is now postponed till 18th September while Namaloom Afraad due to release in last week of August is now shifted to Eidul Azha. Another film Operation 021, due to release on Eid-ul-Azha might be delayed as its final shooting schedule is impacted by political turmoil.
In Lahore attendance of theaters has decreased considerably resulting in loss for producers. On television viewers of entertainment channels have also shifted to news channels thus affecting TRP of entertainment channels.
