The gender pay gap is the average difference between the remuneration for men and women who are working. Women are generally considered to be paid less than men.
In a recent interview with Iffat Omer, Ushna Shah talked about the huge pay gap among the salaries of men and women in industry
“In the industry for some reason it is believed that female actors are dime a dozen and I think that may be so because there is a slight durst of the younger name actors” said Ushna Shah
“Its about us, we work more, we need to get dresses more, we need to put in a lot more work but they do get paid more”
“There is a huge pay gap. If we are being paid equally still we’re not doing equal amount of work, we are still working more”
“Like my contemporaries whoever is as famous as me and has done the same amount of work we should be paid equally”
