Waseem Abbas is the son of the great folk singer Inayat Hussain Bhatti. He began his career as a theater actor and is now a successful Pakistani television actor without whom dramas are considered incomplete. Talking about the difference between a star and an actor, Waseem Abbas said, “It is not necessary for a superstar to be a great actor, and it is not necessary for an actor to be a great superstar. It is like that; the same is the case with Pakistani media industry. If you are not a superstar, you are always underrated in Pakistan. Being a star is a big thing; if you are a star, you are successful, you achieve your goals with ease. If you are a normal actor, you will be always be underrated. If given a choice, I would like to be a star because of the gains. A star gains more success, more money, and more popularity. Nowadays, dramas can run without actors but not without stars; you need stars to sell the drama.”
