Who Are Shuhada e Karbala- The Ones Who Stood With Haq

Ashura- The day Hazrat Imam Hussain RA sacrificed himself to keep the flag of Islam upright, the day only 72 amongst the Muslims stood with what was right, the day Haq won though it was bleeding. It is the day Imam Hussain RA was martyred. The members of Hazrat Muhammad SAW family were martyred by the forced of Yazeed ibn Muawwiya and the day this world will never be able to forget. Many people amongst us are not well-informed about the Shuhada of Youm e Karbala. So, here is an account for you to educate yourself on who were the ones who lost their lives in the line of Haq.

The Banu Hashim- Children of Abu Talib:

1. Hazrat Hussain Ibn Ali RA:

The grandson of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad SAW, the son of Ameer ul Momineen Hazrat Ali and Khatoon e Jannat Hazrat Fatima RA. He was the leader of this group and the one who still inspires men and women to always stand for what is right, what may the circumstances.

2. Abbas Ibn Abu Talib RA:

THe flag-bearer of Imam e Hussain and his half brother. Son of Bibi Umm ul Buneen.

3. Ali Akbar Ibn e Hussain RA:

The son of Imam e Hussain RA who was martyred at the mere age of 18 in the battle of Karbala.

4. Ali Asghar Ibn e Hussain RA:

The youngest son of Imam e Hussain RA. He was just a baby when he was martyred in the battle of Karbala.

5. Abdullah Ibn e Ali RA:

The brother of Imam e Hussain RA and son of Bibi Umm ul Buneen who got martyred at Karbala.

6. Jaffar Ibn e Ali RA:

Jaffar Bin Ali RA, the son of Bibi Umm ul Buneen and brother of Imam e Hussain RA also got martyred in Karbala.

7. Usman Ibn e Ali RA:

Brother of Hussain and son of Bibi Umm ul Buneen. Another martyr of Karbala.

8. Abu Bakar Ibn e Ali RA:

The son of Hazrat Ali RA and Layla bin e Masud. He was the half-brother of Imam e Hussain and was martyred in Karbala.

9. Abu Bakar Ibn e Imam e Hassan RA:

The son of Imam e Hassan RA. He joined the battle of Karbala with his uncle and was martyred in the battle.

10. Qasim Ibn e Imam e Hassan RA:

Qasim RA was the son of Hazrat Imam e Hassan RA and stood with his uncle in the battle of Haq against Batil at the mere age of 13.

11. Abdullah Ibn Imam e Hassan RA:

The son of Imam e Hassan RA who stood with Imam e Hussain in the battle of Karbala.

12. Aun Ibn e Abdullah Ibn Jaffar RA:

The son of the brave Bibi Zaynab RA who was martyred in the battle of Karbala.

13. Muhammad Ibn e Abdullah Ibn e Jaffar RA:

The brother of Aun RA and the son of Bibi Zaynab RA. He sacrificed his life in the line of Haq in the battle of Karbala.

14. Abdullah Ibn e Muslim Ibn e Aqeel RA:

The cousin of Imam e Hussain. He was the son of Hazrat Ali RA’s brother.

15. Muhammad Bin Muslim RA:

Another cousin of Imam e Hussain who was martyred in Karbala.

16. Muhammad Ibn e Saeed Ibn e Aqeel RA:

Cousin of Imam e Hussain RA who stood by him in the battle of Karbala.

17. Abdulrehman Ibn e Aqeel RA:

A cousin of Imam e Hussain RA who is now among the Shuhada e Karbala.

18. Jaffar Ibn e Aqeel RA:

The cousin of Imam e Hussain RA who fought alongside him in the battle of Karbala.

These are the 18 members of the household of Imam e Hussain RA who laid down their lives that day but did not bow down their heads!

These 72 people lost their lives and their limbs but they are still standing, standing tall 1400 years later. They give us a lesson, a lesson that there will always be a Yazeed ibn Muawwiya, towing the line of Batil in every era but we should be Hussaini. The ones who stand by the Haq and the ones who cannot be killed by a sword!
