Binte Fatima Old Age Home is one of the renowned Pakistani shelter homes that are providing a decent living to the old ladies who are abandoned by their families. The old home takes care of its residents and provides them all the basic facilities that are essential for them. However, the old home still can’t provide them the environment of their own houses where they once lived and made memories. These residents of old home remembers their loved ones every day. They look forward to meet their family members especially on Eid days.
In 92 News’s Eid Special show at Binte Fatima Old Home, a beautiful and decent lady Afreen Mehtab opened up about her feelings and talked about her family. She remembered her sister who left her at the old home for a month but is now the permanent resident here.
Talking about it, she said, “My whole family lives in Karachi, I was living with my sister after my parents death, she took me to the old home. Well, I am still hopeful that she will soon come to me and will take me with her. I will say to her, ‘don’t stop here for a single minute, let’s go back home’. I will hold her hand tightly and would take her towards the gate, so that she doesn’t waste time in further discussions, I will hold her tightly, so she won’t leave me again. I think no one will come to meet me on Eid but yes, I am hopeful, as Allah says, never lose hope”. Here is the link to the video:
She further said that she came to the old home for three months but is now living here for three years. She said, “please inform my family and my relatives and ask them to take me back, I feel homeless and imprisoned here, I wait for my loved ones every day, I want to go home”.
