Hum Style Awards is a time for Pakistani celebrities to go out and showcase their personal style mixed in with some avant garde and get rid of their usual drama looks of innocent, straight laced desi girls and boys. Last night came on the latest edition of the show and many seasoned and new celebrities graced the red carpet in their own personal looks. Though the show is about style, many participants probably mistook it for their very own version of Desi Met Gala and came up in costumes rather than stylish looks. Yes, we must mention here that style is subjective and though one look can be gorgeous to one person and horrendous to others so interpretations can vary. But here is our list of 10 worst dressed celebrities at the Desi Met Gala, oh sorry, Hum Style Awards 2024:
1. Hazim Bangwar
Hazim Bangwar is a civil servant and ex-assistant commissioner of North Nazimabad Karachi. He has worked wonders for his city before he was transferred somewhere else. Hazim Bangwar is known for his unique fashion and how soft-spoken and professional he is. He is an artist at heart and last night he did come in a Met Gala inspired look. He looked like he came straight out of Aquaman the movie but in his defense he himself said that he is treating Hum Style Awards as the Met Gala.
2. Hania Aamir
Hania Aamir is a beautiful woman and she did win the Most Stylish Actress Television award last night but her look was confusing. She wore a hot pink suit inspired by the Palestinian Keffiyah but the patterns accentuating the crotch area and the weird length of her jacket did not make her look good. Hania was wearing Nomi Ansari but the look did nothing for her last night.
3. Bilal Saeed
Bilal Saeed is a music icon but he also mistook the Hum Style Awards memo as the desi Met Gala. The tassels, the statement trousers, the jacket, it all looked less style and more costume. Props to the singer to feature a Free Palestine Sign on his jacket but that is probably where the praise will end. Here is what he looked like:
4. Shahroz Sabzwari
The vest paired with those wide-legged trousers made us think what Shahroz Sabzwari was thinking. The guy was in competition with the likes of Wahaj Ali and Mohib Mirza and he picked up the trophy of Most Stylish Man on Television. At least he could have put an effort to make it look more like a red carpet look and less of a sundowner brunch party.
5. Aamna Ilyas
Aamna Ilyas’s look last night was a mix of night club and Dwight from The Office. Aamna is a supermodel and she can carry a sack if she is pushed into one but she should not have been pushed into one and should have worn something that compliemented her look and beauty. The golden and brown extravaganza did nothing for her style.
6. Aima Baig
Aima Baig is the female pop queen of Pakistan right now. People love her music and she sure has her own style which one can recognize but why did she think of wearing a shimmery mini dress last night and then paired it with tights which made her look short and unstylish. Her look had nothing for style and her hair did not match the outfit either.
7. Alizeh Shah
Alizeh Shah probably thought that she wanted to look like Kylie Jenner and dressed as her from the Schiaparelli show this year. The black dress and the weird shawl looking appendage attached to it did nothing for Alizeh Shah. Her hair and makeup were not up to the mark either and she also got caught within the boundary.

8. Khaqan Shahnawaz
Khaqan Shahnawaz is a very handsome guy as quoted by himself in an interview. He knows he has a fair complexion and he has the typical good looks. But why the new actor thought of wearing that silk lapelled jacket is beyond us. He looked inspired by Twilight’s Edward Cullen for his look at the Hum Style Awards 2024.
9. Mariyam Nafees
Mryam Nafees was a hundred percent not excited for this show and she probably recycled a saari she was supposed to wear at a friend’s walima. The green saari was more of wedding guest attire than Hum Style Awards appropriate awrdrobe.
10. Zarmeena Ikram
The world just saw Zarmeena Ikram in her vamp Starplus era as Shahmeer Sikandar’s step-mother and looks like she wants to live in her Komolika phase for a bit longer. The saari Zarmeena wore looked simply bad and did not compliment her at all. Her hair and makeup was good though and she definitely needed to choose another outfit.
