Pakistani dramas have seen an improvement in quality over the last few years. Higher production quality, better costuming and star power have improved the watchability of our shows. The dramas have also gained global viewership, and Pakistani stars are now becoming household names internationally. However, sometimes, despite our best efforts, our dramas fail to impress.
The year 2025 had many good Pakistani dramas, but we also had shows which looked great from the outside but ended up disappointing when they finally aired. Many fans highly anticipated these dramas featuring big stars, but were disappointed. Here is a list of the 12 Worst Pakistani Dramas of 2025:
Mann Mast Malang

Writer: Nooran Makhdoom
Director: Ali Faizan
Mann Mast Malang is actually one of the most popular Pakistani dramas of 2025, based on the number of views. Starring Danish Taimoor and Sehar Hashmi, this drama ended up on the list of the worst dramas of 2025 due to its extremely problematic content. It was marketed as a romance, and Pakistani fans do love to watch romance. But it ended up being a lighter version of soft porn. With the hero tying the heroine in bed, and a shirtless hero wandering around, the heroine was unnecessary and not appropriate for Pakistani television. All these extremely close scenes didn’t even play a part in the story; they were put in just to sensationalise the drama. Thus, Mann Mast Malang ended up on he list for its cheap content.
Sunn Mere Dil

Writer: Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar
Director: Haseeb Hassan
Snn Mere Dil was a Pakistani drama that was highly anticipated before its release. Written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar and directed by Haseeb Hassan, the drama boasted names like Wahaj Ali, Maya Ali, Usama Khan and Hira Mani as leads. What could go wrong with such a strong team, you may ask. Well, EVERYTHING!. The story of Sunn Mere Dil made no sense, which brought a lot of criticism to Khalil ur Rehman Qamar. The direction was lacking, and all the actors performed exaggeratedly and unnaturally. The show ended up being the worst drama of the season while it was airing, and it now ends up on the list.
Dil e Nadan

Writer: Sadia Akhtar
Director: Saima Waseem
Dil e Nadan is a Pakistani drama starring Amar Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar and Ali Abbas. The show was dubbed as the most nonsensical script of the year. Amar Khan played a very naive, college-going girl. Her look and wardrobe did not do justice to her character, while her exaggerated expressions became prime content for memes. A drama with such a talented star cast ended up becoming a hilarious parody. Dil e Nadan was one drama which made everyone question why it was even approved in the first place.
Dayan

Writer: Fatima Faizan & Amber Azhar
Director: Siraj Ul Haq
Dayan is a Pakistani drama which marked the television comeback of Mehwish Hayat. It had a huge star cast, but the story reminded us of 80s exaggerated Lollywood. This show had people coming back to life, severe IQ problems, as no one was able to recognise a woman just because she changed her styling and flying snakes. Creative liberty is the right of a storyteller, but this show had way too many creative liberties. Moreover, people did not agree with the ending when Nihal did not extract revenge from Zawar Shah, while he was okay to live happily ever after with a woman who killed his entire family.
Main Manto Nahi Hoon

Writer: Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar
Director: Nadeem Baig
Main Manto Nahi Hoon was a big-budget Pakistani drama which brought back the Mere Paas Tum Ho team on television. With the biggest constellation of stars in the cast and Nadeem Baig in the director’s seat, this drama was supposed to bring back old-school Khalil ur Rehman Qamar charm. Still, it only ended up glorifying a very problematic relationship, while leaving all the other strong tracks of the story without proper endings. Main Manto Nahi Hoon is on the list of worst dramas, as it was never about Manto but rather about a 50-year-old teacher having an affair with his 21-year-old student. INAPPROPRIATE, SENSELESS and UNNECESSARY!
Humraaz

Writer: Misbah Nosheen
Director: Farooq Rind
Humraaz was one of the highest anticipated dramas of 2025. With Ayeza Khan, Feroze Khan and Zahid Ahmed joining hands, this one was supposed to be a hit from the very first episode. The amalgamation of romance, thriller and crime was what the makers promised the audience. However, the viewers only got a confused attempt at trying to make a crime thriller. The script was unbearable, and the acting at times looked monotonous. This was not just one of the worst dramas of 2025, but also a complete disappointment for fans.
Agar Tum Saath Ho

Writer: Radain Shah
Director: Adnan Sarwar
Agar Tum Saath Ho was not just one of the worst Pakistani dramas of 2025 but also a huge missed opportunity. Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani had just gotten married, and fans were giving them so much love. Hum TV decided to release this drama right after. It had all the ingredients to win the audience, but it forgot to have a STORY. The performances were not up to the mark, and this one also turned out to be a huge disappointment for the fans.
Behroopia

Writer: Rida Bilal
Director: Shaqielle Khan
Behroopia is a Pakistani drama that was dubbed a game-changer. Based on split personality disorder, Faysal Quraisi played 9 characters in this one drama. This was a story which was presented as it would address the pain of this disorder, and then it would show ways to deal with it. What ended up happening was simply a confused script, with the writer herself dissociating from the plot that was shot. Faysal Quraishi did a great job, but even his excellence could not save this trainwreck.
Meri Bahuain

Writer: Osama Siddiqui & Sohail Younus
Director: Ahmer Sohail
Gone are the days when long Pakistani dramas were all about Star Plus-esque storylines. Now, long plays have gained high TRPs, and people have found some great story lines at both 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. slots. But Meri Bahuain just brought back the unnecessary toxicity and sensationalism. Pregnancies in every episode, women calling out women, the saas-bahu saga, this show has everything to ruin a person’s mood. It is definitely one of the worst dramas to air on-screen in 2025.
Shirin Farhad

Writer: Ali Moeen
Director: Asad Mumtaz
Shirin Farhad was a Pakistani drama which had a lot of expectations when it was released. The story was set in old Lollywood, and many characters were fascinating in the beginning. A lot of effort was put into costuming and makeup. Farhan Saeed and Kinza Hashmi were in the lead, but in the end, a weak storyline could not keep the audience interested. This highly anticipated show ended up becoming one of the worst of the year.
Masoom

Writer: Content Line
Director: Barkat Siddiki
Masoom is one Pakistani drama that showed how great acting talent can be wasted easily. With some strong performers like Imran Ashraf, Sonya Hussyn and Mikaal Zulfiqar in the cast, who are all giving their best, this show fell short of an original story. The drama felt like a copy of the Bollywood film Woh 7 Din, and no amount of effort from the actors could save it.
Hum Dono

Writer: Bee Gul
Director: Abis Raza
This Pakistani drama was supposed to be a modern love story with twists and turns. What it turned out to be was an hour of an extremely boring storyline, which will give you a headache. Nouman Ijaz, Kinza Hashmi, Azaan Sami Khan and Samar Jafri were a part of the cast, while Bee Gul was the writer, but viewers could still not build a connection to it. The drama was haphazard and all over the place.
