Humayun Saeed’s drama serial Meray Paas Tum Ho was a cult classic; a drama that built itself a loyal fan following. Meray Paas Tum Ho became so big and popular amongst the audience that its last episode was screened in cinemas across Pakistan, breaking records all over. The last episode aired on 25th January but as it seems, even a month and a half after Meray Paas Tum Ho has ended, people still are under its spell and want to know if there could be a sequel to it or not.

In a recent interview with Waseem Badami, Humayun Saeed was asked if there could be a sequel for Meray Paas Tum Ho. Upon the question, Humayun Saeed said there could be and if it would happen, he would again want Khalil ur Rehman Qamar to write the script for it because he was a wonderful writer.

In various other questions Humayun Saeed said that he never thought there was anything wrong with the script of Meray Paas Tum Ho and he didn’t find it degrading towards women at all. Regarding the famous “2 takay ki larki” dialogue, Humayun said that the dialogue was just simple and didn’t intend to demean women because it was spoken aptly in the situation. “We use this dialogue in a number of situations and it was the same in Meray Paas Tum Ho. However, because it was spoken in a tense situation, the audience picked it up.”
