Mahira Khan after a long hiatus from television made a comeback on the small screen with the drama serial Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay. There has been a lot of hype about the drama serial lately. People were expecting so much from Mahira. When the drama started it got a lot of acclamation, Mahira stood out with her exceptional performance yet, people were disappointed with the storyline. It was the same love triangle, two girls drooling over a guy who happens to be their cousin. Mahira Khan in a recent podcast shared that why she chose to do a stereotypical drama like Hum Kahan Ke Sachat Thay.
“I have done a story in which there are three cousins and two girls who like the same guy. How can I preach something? But then something worked for me. It worked that girl was not crying, I like that she is not a Behari and eventually I like how she will pan out. I like the fact that it is more about what elders do and the kind of stuff they say and how it becomes toxic. It is a very day-to-day story. But at the end of the day, there are things about it that are regressive”
