Vasay Chaudhry is a big name in the Pakistani entertainment industry. He is a writer, host and actor and he excelled in all the fields. Vasay Chaudhry is also among a few writers who have given not only hit dramas but hit films. His Jawani Phir Nahi Aani series have been some of the biggest hits of their time till now. Vasay was a guest on Ahmad Ali Butt’s podcast and shared some of his views.
Vasay talked about similarities between Pakistani and Indian films. He said that both the industries came out of a joint India in 1947 thus Pakistani films are an extension of Indian films. There is no copying from Bollywood as we have the same film culture as India. We have the same song styles, the same dancing and the same type of songs that Indians now call item numbers.

He also talked about the award shows in Pakistan. He said that this Viewer’s Choice Awards is stupid. We have copied the concepts from India and implemented them here but Viewer’s Choice is “Bakwaas”. He added that it should be the right of peers and experts in the industry to award projects and everything should not become a race for ratings.

Vasay is also against inviting bloggers for film previews. He said that they come and watch the film for free and still badmouth it. What are the makers getting out of it? He pointed out that many times the hype that is created on social media makes the makers happy but honestly it is all false as the film still does not work.
