Abrar Ul Haq brought Bhangra to the forefront of Pakistani pop music. His Aaja Ni Baija Cycle Tey, Preeto, Billo De Ghar and other songs are classics and they are still played at every wedding. His song Nach Punjaban was recently stolen and remixed by Bollywood and he has once again made a comeback in music after leaving politics last year.
Abrar was a guest on Ahmed Ali Butt’s show and he spoke abot how he started a trend of these Jatt songs with FIRs and action in the lyrics and music videos and they were a hit two decades ago when people were not familiar with the gangster style music. Nowadays, Indian singers are copying his songs style and they are becoming hits, a trend that he appreciates but it was not replicated in Pakistan.

He also spoke about how old singers are always angry at the new talent. This used to happen to him and now singers of his generation are doing to youngsters. He added that music of every generation should be respected and enjoyed.
