Samina Khayal Baig is a famous young Pakistani mountaineer who was born in Shimshal, Gilgit, in 1990. She was the first female Pakistani mountaineer who climbed Mount Everest in the year 2013, she also climbed seven top summits by 2014. The Pakistani mountaineer climbed K2 in 2022. She is the first ever Pakistani woman to climb Mount Everest, K2 and the Seven Summits. She climbed Mount Everest at the age of 21. She was currently making headlines for her recent K2 Expedition.
Well, lately, the tragic news about the Pakistani mountaineer did rounds on social media when she fell sick during her recent K2 expedition which she was leading too. It was a joint Pakistani-Italian female expedition. According to the details, Baig, who was also leading the tough expedition, started to develop the severe breathing issues during her pre-expedition preparation process.
Unfortunately, the young mountaineer didn’t get any help in time despite her rapidly deteriorating health conditions. All the necessary equipment and team members were there to take part in the rescue operations but the weather does didn’t allow the operation to happen. Samina Baig waited for the helicopter for the three days. The doctor assessed her condition and informed everyone about her deteriorating health.
Unfortunately, the team decided to evacuate her with human assistance and a horse. According to the latest news, the brave mountaineer has been rescued and has been airlifted from Dassu to Skardu through helicopter. She is now admitted to the Combined Military Hospital in Skardu and needs prayers. Her family and her brother requested for the prayers and also informed about the details of her tragic abandonment from the expedition.
