Hareem Farooq is a spectacular Pakistani actor. She rose to fame from drama serial Diyar E Dil. She is also known for producing hit films. Her notable dramas are Mere Hamdam Mere Dost, Dusri Bivi and Sanam, 22 Qadam and others. She is currently garnering praise in Bismil for her negative character Masooma.
Recently, Hareem Farooq made an appearance in Something Haute’s YouTube show hosted by Hassan Choudhary. In the show, she talked about getting Bismil’s script, success and playing Masooma.
Talking about fetching a role in Bismil, Hareem Farooq said, “I was being approached for multiple characters by the producers but I specifically told them my requirements for a script. I really wanted to play a layered or challenging character. I was then narrated Bismil along with the names of cast. I instantly said yes to the script”
Talking about Masooma’s character, she said, “I always talk to my director before any project because I want be on the same page with my director. I asked Aehsun Bhai, ‘how is Masooma for you?’. He replied that she does things in her innocence. She is not inherently evil. It is a reality, people are not born evil, they become evil due to their circumstances or they do some actions which turn out to be bad but in reality they are not bad people. Masooma is not exactly innocent but she doesn’t think about the consequences of her impulsive or negative actions”
Hareem Farooq further said that she won’t label Masooma a gold digger because she was not completely a gold digger. Here is the link to the video:
Talking about Bismil’s success, she said, “when I heard the story I found it a bit relatable because I knew a few people who have been through the same and when the drama went on air, I got feedback from multiple sources that it is quite common and there are many women who have been cheated on by husbands like this. I didn’t know it was quite a common practice and that is why it resonated with people and they started watching it”
