Pakistani dramas have slowly grown a global appeal. In addition to a good story and impeccable performances, how the characters are styled plays an important role in how a project will be received. There have been characters who were styled so well that they made an average drama the talk of the town. In the last year, we had some big shows that topped the rating charts and they had some well-styled characters increasing the viewership for those shows.
Here is a list of best-styled characters in recent Pakistani dramas that made them into a must-watch:
Rahim In Aye Ishq e Junoon
Sheheryar Munawar is the backbone of currently airing Pakistani drama Aye Ishq e Junoon. A crime-thriller and romance drama that is continuously topping the rating charts owes its success to the character Rahim played by Sheheryar Munawar. Initially, how Rahim was styled and how the actor carried that persona made this show so palatable for the audience. The drama has some really weak performances but Shehryar Munawar as Rahim has carried it and his styling is on point.
Mubashira Jaffar In Mein
Ayeza Khan played the narcissist Mubashira Jaffar in Mein. A girl who has it all and is still not satisfied with her life was perfectly portrayed by Ayeza Khan. She not only worked on picking up the nuances of her character well, she styled herself in a great manner. She actually looked as rich as she was shown in the show and it was an important part of her character development. Her reception look from Mein ended up becoming a trend for real-life brides, that is how good she was in that drama.
Aliya In Mann Jogi
Sabeena Farooq played a very strong character Aliya in an important Pakistani drama Mann Jogi. The character’s journey goes through fleeing her home, getting divorced, and then actually reaching the verge of killing herself. She then gets back up and takes her agency in her own hands. She was without makeup, she did not care that she had mud on her and her clothes were tattered and cheap. She actually looked like Aliya and not like Sabeena which is the example of a perfectly styled character.
Nana Miyan In Standup Girl
Sohail Ahmed is a legend of Pakistan. He has been playing diverse characters for around four decades now. He made a huge comeback to Pakistani dramas with Kashif Nisar’s Standup Girl and he just won all hearts. He played Zara Noor Abbas’s grandfather and how he looked in the show really won everyone. He was like every average, loving grandpa that we see in Pakistan and he kept growing for his granddaughter which was heartwarming to witness.
Meenu In Zard Patton Ka Bunn
Sajal Aly is the most powerful young actress of the Pakistani drama industry and she showed that once again she played the village girl Meenu in Zard Patton Ka Bunn. She wore the clothes that a girl from a village would be wearing. She went all natural. Her hair was styled simply and she was cutting hay, riding a bicycle, and jumping through roofs. She looked like a real Meenu with her style and mannerisms and perfectly brought the character to life.
Nosherwan Ghaznavi In Jaan Nisar
Danish Taimoor really brought this one to life. One look at the suits he was wearing and the aura he carried and you will know he is THE NOSHERWAN GHAZNAVI. A story that was cliched was actually such a massive hit thanks to Danish Taimoor’s impeccable work on his character, its styling, and the portrayal of a wadera.
Zara In Jafaa
Mawra Hocane played an independent and educated Dr Zara who goes through domestic violence. From being a professional doctor to a newlywed and then a broken woman going through her journey of survival, Zara looked the part in every scene. Mawra Hoacne did a great job with the character’s styling and it was praised by everyone.
Shahmir Sikandar In Ishq Murshid
Bilal Abbas Khan appeared in that suit at that grave and the audience was hooked. The actor played the character of a politician’s son who has the power to control the whole province. His second character Fazal Bakhsh on the other hand was a goof and the star styled both the characters so well that they looked like two different people. One of the most loved characters of the season for a reason.
Noor Jahan In Noor Jahan
Saba Hameed played the cruel matriarch Noor Jahan in the show of the same title. She showed the younger generation how it is done. From simple shalwar kameez to elegant saaris, her attire was completely according to her powerful character. She oozed aura and she is one of the most powerful characters of the last year.
Zamda In Khaie
From a city girl to a girl who performs Khaie, Durefishan Saleem’s character not only goes through a story arc but also a style evolution. A Pashtoon inspired character, Zamda looked beautiful in every look and this gave even more power to the story. Her shoes, jewellery as well as her chadars, everything was styled perfectly for the character and Durefishan did a great job.
Adeel From Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum
Do not need to say more. Emmad Irfani as Adeel won hearts with his impeccable styling in the blockbuster Pakistani drama Kbahi Main Kabhi Tum. People were dressing as him for Halloween which is the ultimate win for any character. Emmad Irfani brought his own charm to Adeel and fans love it.
