Amar Khan is a tremendous Pakistani television and film artist, as well as a writer. Her famous dramas include Bellapur Ki Dayan, Dil e Gumshuda, Qayamat, Baddua, Ghughi, Breaking News, Choti Choti Batain, Daraar and others. She also wrote projects like Dum Mastam and Heer Da Hero. Recently, she worked in Geo TV’s hit dramas Sunn Mere Dil and Dil e Nadan. Amar Khan faced criticism for her naive character in Dil e Nadan.
She recently appeared in Faysal Quraishi’s Ramzan transmission, where she responded to the criticism of Dil e Nadan.
Talking about Dil e Nadan, she said, “In Sunn Mere Dil, people were more critical of other aspects rather than the actors. My character successfully escaped in Sunn Mere Dil, but I was criticized more for Dil e Nadan. In Dil e Nadan, people were quite angry with the makers for portraying a character like Nayab, who was foolish or naive. They believed that such innocent characters should not be shown on TV because they don’t exist in this era. As actors, we say the same—that content should now evolve. However, I am surprised that despite the criticism, the drama still received high ratings and views. It is unfortunate that audiences do not prefer out of the box or non-commercial dramas.”
