Faysal Quraishi said that Islam does not allow four marriages, it limits men to not marry more. Polygamy was allowed after the war of Uhud. There were widows and orphans who needed support and thus polygamy was encouraged at that time. He added that a scholar can answer this better but according to him, justice between wives is not possible in normal circumstances. Thus marry once and be happy. He added that people are not even able to do justice between their children who are their own then justice between wives is a difficult task. Thus Islam limited men to not take more than four wives.
