Behkaway is a Geo TV’s popular drama series which airs daily at 9:00 PM. The story has been written by Samra Bukhari and it has been directed by Asad Jabal. The drama serial is produced by 7th Sky Entertainment. The cast features stellar actors including Yashma Gill, Hiba Ali, Yasir Nawaz, Osama Tahir, Nayyar Ejaz, Farhan Ally Agha, Ayesha Gul, Jinan Hussain, Sajida Rizvi and others. Behkaway’s story is about a stubborn middle aged man Zubair who mistreats his wife Zeenat and is known for his flirtatious nature.
Geo TV has so far aired 27 episodes of the drama serial Behkaway. The drama serial is getting severe public backlash for multiple controversial situations including glorification of marital abuse, second marriage and harassment. The recent episode of the drama serial is facing backlash for showing an inappropriate scene in which uncle of Zeenat and Zubair’s daughter picked her from the school and tried to harass her. He also took her to the ice cream shop for an ice cream and was shown doing mysterious acts.
The drama is facing severe criticism for continuously showing inappropriate scenes. A fan wrote, “This is a very vulgar drama; it is sending a very bad message.” Another commented, “The moral values of our society are continuously declining, and they are airing such dramas to give people these ideas.” Someone else wrote, “They have kept a predator at home.” A social media user added, “Although what they are showing is horrific, it carries an important message for parents.” Many drama viewers believe that Behkaway should be reported and banned.
