Javed Akhtar is a veteran Indian writer and poet who frequently makes headlines for spreading hate against Pakistan. Multiple Pakistani artists have often called out the actorโs hypocrisy. According to many, he enjoys generous hospitality in Pakistan but makes anti-Pakistan statements upon returning to India.
Recently, Javed Akhtar has once again come under the spotlight for yet another hateful remark against Pakistan. Speaking at a press conference on the ABP channel, he said, “I receive a lot of appreciation, but along with that, I am abused by extremists from both sidesโIndia and Pakistan. I would be surprised if I didnโt receive any hate, because that would mean Iโm doing something wrong. So let it be. People from Pakistan say I will go to hell, while people in India call me a Jihadi, accuse me of favouring Pakistan, and often tell me to โgo to Pakistan.โ So, if I had to choose between Pakistan and Hell, I would choose Hell.” Here is the link to the video:
Javed Akhtarโs statement is receiving severe public backlash in Pakistan. Pakistani celebrities like Mishi Khan, Imran Abbas, Zhalay and Sharmila Faruqui have also called out the actor.
Mishi Khan said, “You have chosen the best place for yourself because thatโs what you deserve. And yes, never ever dare to come to Pakistan. No one will invite you. Also, donโt forget to take those with you who were sitting at your feetโtake them along and enjoy. Just donโt come back.”
Actor Imran Abbas said, “If he doesn’t opt for Hell, he will still end up on the same flight, but likely in the lower economy class. We only granted him Business/First status; otherwise, he didn’t merit any other class.”
Pakistanis are also trolling the actor online. One social media user wrote, “He doesn’t know that he’s already in hell (India), but he wonโt admit it.” Another commented, “He means to say heโs a confirmed Jahannumi.” A third user wrote, “Even Hell would be scared of a hateful person like Javed Akhtar.” Another said, “Quaid-e-Azam was rightโIndian Muslims will spend their entire lives trying to prove their loyalty to India.” Sharmila Faruqui, Zhalay Sarhadi, and many others also slammed Javed Akhtar for his venomous statement against Pakistan.
