Parwarish is a popular ARY Digital drama which is currently facing backlash for promoting various Western agendas. Initially, it garnered immense praise for showcasing how the parents of teenagers should tackle the mood swings of their growing up kids. Now, many people are criticizing the makers for smoothly shifting the focus from parenting to teenage love and LGBTQ. Parwarish is written by Kiran Siddiqui and directed by Meesam Naqvi and it is a Big Bang Entertainment presentation.
Anchor Kiran Naz spoke out against Parwarish makers for showing teenage love. Kiran shared a vlog on Tiktok in which raised her concerns.
Talking about it, Kiran Naz said, “This is societal vulgarity being glorified on TV. We see hugs and people getting physically closer to each other on TV. Many people suggested me Parwarish. I had time, so I switched it on—and I was shocked to see they were showing teenage romance. Marriage isn’t everything; there are many other goals that can be taught to children. Marriage is a matter of destiny—it will eventually come to you. It should not be portrayed on TV that ‘who loves whom.’ These things should not be promoted on television especially about a certain younger kids.
Kiran Naz further added, “Then I did some research and found out that Parwarish’s director is the same who directed Mayi Ri which I also objected to. It was shown incorrectly—it goes against the laws of current times where laws against child marriage have been passed. Although marriage is allowed in Islam and I don’t disagree with it, the conclusion of the drama was very problematic where the makers showed a divorce between a young couple. First, you showed child marriage, and then you promoted divorce, which sends the wrong message. Now in Parwarish, you’re showing a doctor and a musician who abandon their goals and are busy hugging and cuddling each other. Why don’t channels have discussions or brainstorming sessions before creating dramas? In rural areas, people are heavily influenced by such content.” Here is the link to the video:
