Hum TV is one of the big three channels for Pakistani dramas. With many classics on their credit, this channel gave way to great stories on mainstream media. Lately, the channel is putting out more misses than hits. Yes, the stories are diversifying but they are also becoming more illogical. Consequently, if a drama like Ishq Mrshid or Meem se Mohabba becomes a hit, it gets stretched unnecessarily.
The latest shows we have been watching on Hum TV have not hit the mark. All these dramas have star-srudded casts but they are not doing a lot for the viewers. The first one is Masoom starring Imran Ashraf, Sonya Hussyn and Mikaal Zulfiqar which has just started. It did not create as much hype as it should have for being a big show:
Recently concluded Shireen Farhad had Farhan Saeed in the lead and it came and went without anyone even noticing:
Agar Tum Saath Ho also sufered with the same fate despite having trending couple Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani in the lead:
Looks like ARY Digital’s new show Biryani also did not generate as much buzz with its first episode. The views have been low. Let’s see how it evolves as episodes release:
Many new dramas are coming and going on channels especially on Hum TV but weak scripts are not letting them become big hits!
