Sangeeta is a veteran star of Pakistani film and television industry. She has worked in 100s of films and she also successfully directed over 80 films. She is respected for her extensive work and the way she has represented herself on and off screen. The starlet was a guest on Wasi Shah’s Zabardast and revealed the most painful parts of her life.
Sangeeta revealed her marriage is one of the biggest regrets of her life and the way it came about still makes her feel pain. She said she got married out of anger. Her mother once came on a set where she was the director and said some really negative things. She abused her in front of the whole crew. She got so upset that she nearly jumped into the Swat river to commit suicide. Her film’s hero Humayun Qureshi was the one who came and saved her. She was so angry at her mother that she proposed to him the next day and got married. Her parents were against it and her mother never made peace with her decision.
The marriage lasted only 3 years and it is one of the biggest regrets of her life. She has three daughters from her marriage and she brought them up herself:
She went on to share another tragedy. Her first daughter was only 16 years old when she married her off. She was scared that people would say wrong things to her as she was an actress’s daughter. That marriage did not go well for her daughter. She has lived a difficult life and Sangeeta still feels guilty that it was the biggest wrong decision that she made. She urged parents to be lenient with their children and do not repeat past mistakes.

Sangeeta went on to reveal how she suffered from Hep-C in 2000. It was so bad that doctors told her that she will die soon. She was treated both in Pakistan and India. She had surgical procedures and was injected 90 times before she came back to life. She not only became better but also tells people to fight any disease they suffer from bravely. She also revealed that she lost her only brother to cancer. Her brother’s daughter was none other than Indian actress Jiah Khan. Jiah was the oldest child of her brother who was murdered in India. Her brother used to cry for his daughter while he was alive.
