Talking about Pakistan’s peaceful era, he said, “I started playing guitar at school, and we used to sing with our friends near the central Baptis Church in Karachi. Pakistan was a very comfortable place to live. Nobody would judge you or raise an eyebrow at what you were doing. That peaceful era ended immediately after Zia took over. Gradually, we began to see a decline. The initial days of Bhutto were good, but toward the end of his tenure, things started to deteriorate, and linguistic conflicts—particularly between Sindhis and Punjabis—began to take over.”
He further said that when he was young everything was at its place. People used to feel freedom in their activities. They were allowed to follow their passions and dreams, it never bothered the other person. Things were all in their proper places.
