Sher is a popular ARY Digital drama series which has been directed by Aehsun Talish and written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah. It is an Idream Entertainment Productions. The drama has recently garnered one billion views on its official YouTube channel. Sher’s ost also played an important role in the success of the drama. It has so far collected 4.6 million views on YouTube.
Recently, Akram Rehan, the lyricist of the famous drama serial Sher’s OST, appeared on Samaa TV’s Punjabi podcast. During the podcast, he spoke about the injustice done to him by the makers of Sher.
He said, “Arif Lohar has sung it so well, it has also goyt a beautiful composition, what else do I need but the money I got was not enough for an OST. I got the amount equal to the electricity bill of any poor man. I wasn’t even given credits in the song. When they contacted me, I was told that they are doing a low budget project for which they need a song. The makers didn’t tell me the truth, had they told me about the drama ost I would have charged more than what they gave me. I trusted in them but they betrayed me. It later released as an OST of a mega drama series. I am sad with their attitude, they haven’t paid me, there was no written contract. I can’t claim anything but I’m getting advice from a few friends. I was only given 50 thousand after I contacted them”. Here is the link to the video:
