Abdullah Kadwani is one of the most successful Pakistani drama producers who is currently celebrating his tremendous success after his back to back hit projects. In these two years, he has given many hit serials like Rang Mehal, Khuda Aur Mohabbat, Siyani, Tere Bin & Jhoom. Currently, the top 3 most viewed drama slots also belong to the Tere Bin producer. He has recently appeared in an interview with Maliha Rehman. In the show, he had a detailed discussion regarding his dramas.
He talked about the excessive use of flashbacks in his dramas. Abdullah Kadwani responded to the question about flashbacks, he said, “We make Experimental content, it doesn’t have anything to do with the long episodes, we produced many dramas, all have different durations, we produced Jurm which was a project based on four episodes, we made Jhoom which has 16 episodes, then we had Siyani, Nikah, Mushkil and Fitrat, they all had different durations, we go with the script”.
He further added, “There is a science behind using flashbacks, why we use flashbacks, we dont deliberately add flashbacks, they are added on the demand, for example, I have to make someone recall something, I will use flashbacks for the story telling purpose because it will make them connect with the story, instantly”. He refuted the idea of dragging the show through flashbacks if they are going good. He said, we don’t drag dramas, we go with reality.
