Abeel Jawed is a renowned Pakistani television host best known for co-hosting Masala TV’s popular cooking show alongside the legendary Zubaida Tariq. Their show, Handi, was one of the longest-running cooking shows on Pakistani television. Abeel Jawed reportedly got married in March 2014 and stepped away from hosting afterward. She is the mother of two daughters. Abeel’s husband passed away due to heart failure in May 2026.
Recently, Abeel Jawed appeared on Good Morning Pakistan, where she opened up about her husband’s illness and death.
Abeel Jawed said, “Shehzad wasn’t sick. I just felt he had low body oxygen. When we went there, doctors told us many things, like we had to put him on dialysis and a ventilator. He got panicked, saying, ‘I don’t want to do all these things.’ His heart failed within four hours of hearing the doctor’s diagnosis. I brought him to the hospital well; everything happened in front of my eyes. The way I was hearing from people about single parenting scared me because I had never been through that. My children thought I was the culprit as I took him to the hospital. Can you imagine the trauma of a little kid who sees a first death at home—that too, his father’s? My little Hoorain didn’t even know that those who die never come back. When we were showing Shehzad’s face for the last time, she started crying, saying that she will see when her Baba will be back. She didn’t know what happened after death; she asked for how many days her father has to stay in the grave.
