Shiza Hashmi is an emerging Pakistani actress, model, and influencer. Her popular dramas include Bahu Baiti, Husna Rudali, Teacher, Komal, and others. Besides acting, Shiza frequently works in TV commercials and television shows. Her most notable TVCs include Ecostar, where she starred alongside Hamza Ali Abbasi, Lifebuoy and others. She also has a strong social media presence, with around 136k followers on Instagram.

Recently, the young actress appeared on the 21 MM Show, hosted by Younas Khan. During the show, Shiza Hashmi opened up about the struggles she has faced in trying to get work in the mainstream television industry and revealed the real faces behind big producers and channels.

Talking about it, Shiza Hashmi said, “There is a lobby system in the industry. I visited Six Sigma—they made me wait for hours and then sent me back without giving me work. I have visited multiple other production houses but have not been offered any projects. I also visited Big Bang—Dr. Ali Kazmi sends silly pictures on Snapchat but never discusses giving work. And when you ask for work, they just give contacts of third-rate people. They only entertain people with extremely wealthy and influential backgrounds. Even the Geo TV’s Marry Appa, if you go, she praises you, saying, ‘O beta, you look so cute,’ but when it comes to signing a project, she doesn’t even pick up the phone. You will see families of Jawed Sheikh and Behroze Sabzwari on television but not us. I am a good artist which is why I have been doing TVCs that too with reputable multinational brands—they offer you dinners or launches but not work. “

She further added, “People don’t reveal the inner stories because of fear, but I have no fear. Now, people don’t refuse me because they know me. BJ Productions staff also made wrong offers. Humayun Saeed and 7th Sky have corrupt staff, and even Humayun Saeed and Fahad Mustafa themselves don’t respond.” Watch here:
