Afshan Ahmed is a graceful and talented Pakistani singer, known for her old PTV appearances in musical shows, advertisements, and songs. She rose to national fame with the timeless classic Mere Bachpan Ke Din, sung with Muhammad Ali Shehki. She also sang Bari Mushkil Se and Babla for PTV. Afshan Ahmed was also known for singing jingles for advertisements. Nowadays, the singer has distanced herself from music; however, she often appears on Good Morning Pakistan.

Recently, Afshan Ahmed was once again a guest on GMP, where she shared a beautiful message about parents.

Talking about it, Afshan Ahmed said, “I don’t like it when someone asks, ‘Does your father live with you?’ or ‘Do your parents live with you?’ I always reply, ‘No, we live with our parents.’ What can we really give to our parents? These are small things that we can do for them, and such gestures make their hearts feel full and happy. It’s a gradual process when parents become vulnerable, and we turn into their protectors. When my mother entered her early seventies and my father in his eighties, I made sure to design my house according to their needs. I installed bars in their washrooms, used rounded furniture without sharp edges, and got customized slippers. My parents cooperated with me—I asked them to use walkers, which they did, because a stick can be dangerous for them. This improved their quality of life, and they didn’t make it an ego issue. You have to handle parents with love, patience, and care. They don’t demand anything from us. You must be as careful with your parents as you are with children. Build your homes to be wheelchair-friendly.” Watch here:
