Alizeh Shah is a young and promising Pakistani television star, known for her bold personality, natural acting, and outspoken views. She also boasts an impressive Instagram following of 4.3 million. While most fans admire her active presence on social media, a few criticize her for her boldness. Alizeh Shahโs popular dramas include Ishq Tamasha, Ehd-e-Wafa, Mera Dil Mera Dushman, Dil Moum Ka Diya, Muhabbat Ki Akhri Kahani, Khel, Taqdeer, Jo Tu Chahay, and others.
Alizeh Shah has recently been expressing her views on social media more frequently. This time, she opened up about the public criticism regarding her choice of wearing short clothes. She defended her clothing choices, stating that she grew up in an environment where mini dresses were never an issue for her family.
Taking it to her Instagram, Alizeh Shah wrote, “Letโs get one thing clear. Iโve worn sleeveless clothes, shorts, and skirts since I was a child. Itโs how I was raised. My mother never forced me into outdated ideas of how a girl should dress. She never imposed tradition on me. She raised me with love, not limitations. She saw me for the child I wasโand the emotional, expressive woman I was becoming. This isnโt new to the camera. Iโve worn similar outfits before and never asked for permission. So why is it now that Iโm being trolled, judged, and threatened? And for what? Being honest? Dressing the way I always have? Not fitting into someone elseโs idea of who I should be?”
She also mentioned, “This isnโt about clothes. Itโs about control. Iโm not here to be anyoneโs idea of “acceptable.” Iโve worked for everything I have, and I donโt need your permission. Whatโs truly disturbing isnโt my appearanceโitโs the obsession with tearing someone down just because theyโre visible. If my confidence bothers you, maybe ask yourself why?”
She further posted, “If you believe women online are doing wrong, then watching actresses or influencers is equally problematic. Islam teaches us to reflect on our own actions before judging others. Telling a woman she must wear a burqa or leave her profession is not your role. Everyone is accountable to Allahโnot to public opinion. Let people work and live with dignity. This world is hard enoughโespecially for womenโso instead of policing them, focus on your own path.”
Not only this, Alizeh Shah also mentioned a Quranic verse. She wrote, “As the Qur’an says: โThere is no compulsion in religionโ (2:256).”
Alizeh Shah is getting severe public backlash for defending her boldness. A netizen wrote, “She has always been like that. When she was in school, my sister was her teacher. However it is shameful that if you become popular, you take off your clothes” Another said, “Ask your mom also to wear clothes like these if there is nothing bad in it and she raised you in this way”. A social media user expressed sympathy with Alizeh, “The only vulgar actress with whom I have sympathy because she is passing through depression at such a young age and unable to cope with it. I always wondered why her parents don’t take her to the psychiatrist. Now I know her mother is involved in her deteriorating mental health.”
