She often shares her thoughts with fans, and this time, she has spoken up about something that is bothering her regarding Eid ul Adha.
Alizeh Shah expressed her fear regarding the upcoming Eid ul Azha and the sacrifice of animals. She shared her feelings openly and said that Qurbani should be done with care and responsibility. Talking about it, Alizeh wrote, “A humble thought from the heart. As Eid ul Adha approaches, I’ve been holding onto something I feel I should finally express — with the utmost respect, love, and understanding for everyone’s beliefs and practices. Please know this is not a criticism, just a soft voice sharing a different perspective. I know that Qurbani (sacrifice) is a Sunnah, a beautiful tradition rooted in the story of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) and his submission to Allah’s will. But it is also true, from an Islamic standpoint, that it is not a fardh (obligatory) act for everyone. For many, it’s only required once in a lifetime, and even then, only if one is financially able. Yet, sometimes, it feels like this sacred act has turned into something else entirely.”
Alizeh was also not happy about seeing the signs of sacrificing of animals on the roads. She stated, “Every year, I see so much pain on the roads — blood, fear in the eyes of animals, their cries — and my heart breaks. I know they can’t speak, but animals feel. They love, they nurture, they form bonds — just like we do. They were created by the same loving God who created us, and to see them suffer so publicly, often with pictures, jokes, and memes shared on social media — it’s something I personally find very difficult to digest. I know intentions matter, and I know that for many, Qurbani is done with sincerity and reverence. This post is not against that. It’s only a gentle plea: Can we make this Eid less about how many animals we sacrifice or how big they are, and more about the spirit of giving, empathy, and humility? I only request — if it’s possible — please be mindful of the images and videos shared online. Some of us are deeply affected by them. Islam teaches mercy, compassion, and dignity — for humans and animals. That is the true Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH).”
She also said that it was just her personal opinion to which fans may disagree or disagree. Here is the post shared by Alizeh Shah:
