Amin Iqbal is a director who has made some very good dramas which people have loved. He has not only worked with the biggest stars of the industry, he has also launched big stars like Saba Qamar, Yumna Zaidi and Affan Waheed. He was a guest on Zabardast hosted by Wasi Shah and shared some behind the scenes stories from his work.
Amin Iqbal revealed the bad qualities of our actors and actresses. He shared that he is a director and therefore the captain of the ship. He said that our actors go through a lot of difficulty. There is never any time between shoots and actors do not know how to unlearn the previous character they played. Thus as a director, he often has to help them unlearn their previous characters. He also shared that our actors also have very difficult routines and they are often drinking coffee and caffeine which makes them irritable. As a director, he regulates these habits on his sets.

Amin Iqbal also spoke about what he went through when he started out in the industry. He exposed a big producer and shared that he took his scripts to him. The producer asked him if Amin Iqbal was “drinking” when he wrote these scripts as “drinking” is necessary for the creative process. Amin does not drink and replies that he does not even drink tea or coffee. The producer insulted him and threw those scripts on his face. It was painful for Amin but he was determined to prove himelf. Years later, the same producer met him at a show where he was being awarded. He apologized for his previous behaviour and acknowledged Amin Iqbal’s talent.
