Azaan Sami Khan is among the top Pakistani musicians and he has given some of the biggest hit songs for films like Superstar and OSTs of Ishq e Laa, Kuch Ankahi and others. He is the son of Zeba Bakhtiar and Adnan Sami Khan. He made his acting debut in Amin Iqbal directorial Ishq e Laa opposite Sajal Aly and Yumna Zaidi. He has not given many hits in acting yet but he is working in shows like Ae Dil and Meri Tanhai.
Azaan Sami Khan’s director Amin Iqbal gave an interview to Ambreen Fatima and spoke about nepotism in the industry and how Azaan treated him on his debut project. He revealed that Azaan was selected after many auditions and Momina Duraid was sure that she could put her money on him before she gave him the opportunity. Since the very first scene, Azaan was very attentive and said something to Amin Iqbal which he still remembers.
The director revealed that Azaan Sami Khan asked him to throw him out of the show if his scenes did not look right on the very first day. Azaan said that his acting represents his mother Zeba Bakhtiar and he does not want to hurt her if criticism comes his way. He is carrying a baggage of his parents’ legacy with him.
The director added that he is also working with Zaviyar Nauman and only people from industry families who are talented get the opportunity. Thus people should not just bash them. Even Azaan is a better actor than both Adnan and Zeba but he is not getting the right scripts. These kids are suffering from generational curse and audience does not give them time to develop themselves.
