Areej Tariq is an emerging Pakistani actress who is currently garnering praise for her debut drama series Meri Zindagi Hai Tu. She began her career as a make-up artist and has done get-ups & looks for Mann Jogi, Mrs & Mr Shameem, Raqeeb Se and Jeevan Magar.
Recently, Areej Tariq appeared on Maliha Rehman’s YouTube show, where she opened up about working with Hania Aamir and being her fan.
Talking about it, Areej Tariq said, “I didn’t ask for the script and went on the set, and I had my first scene with Hania. By the way, I am a huge fan of Hania Aamir. She came in front of me and I was completely lost, thinking what made me say yes to this while processing it. But then I taught myself that now, if it’s happening, just enjoy the moment. You manifested it and it’s just there so just live this moment.”
Replying to the question about her experience with Hania Aamir, she said, “Hania Aamir is very sweet, funny, and kind, always full of fun. She has an understanding of her work, she knows where her light is, she teaches others so much, and she has no insecurity that the other actress will become more successful than her. She is always nice, helpful, and always caring. Once, she even guessed that I was not looking normal like the way I play Naveen and asked why, after which she heard my whole rant, and it literally helped me out. It’s about how you treat newcomers, and she is so kind, and I have always been treated the same by all.”
Speaking about Meri Zindagi Hai Tu’s set environment, she said, “The set of the drama was so fun. I was welcomed by Jia Ji; she then asked about me, we became friends, then Atabik became a great friend. I developed a great camaraderie with Hania. Although my work has been wrapped, the shooting is still on, but this set was amazing. I had a great experience on this set.
Talking about her character, she said, “I tried to be a positive best friend. I was of the view that this friend should look like a friend, not just another filler character. I wanted the best friend to play her part in Ayra’s life. I thought my role should contribute to Ayra’s life, Naveen should be behind her like I make sure to be helpful to my friends in real life. I knew we had fewer situations to play around in the drama but I put my efforts in it. We know we are promoting a toxic character, but we had to play within that. This best friend wants her friend to make her decision. But in real life, if my friend’s bf would change for her, then it is not overwhelming, it’s the bare minimum one can go for. People should change in love. Also, if a person parties, he drinks, it’s his lifestyle, keep your distance from him if you have issues with it”
