He worked and excelled in the field of investigative journalism and lost his life while he was standing for his cause. The star journalist was on the run for his life when he was assassinated in Kenya. He came from an Army background and both his father and brother were in the Army. His elder brother was also martyred in the line of duty.
Arshad Sharif Shaheed’s painful death shook the nation. It is among the most high-profile killings in Pakistan and his family is still awaiting justice. His mother Riffat Aara Alvi kept fighting for her son and even reached the steps of the Supreme Court. She named the most powerful in the country and kept asking for justice. She has today left this mortal world after 3 years of her son’s passing.
Riffat Aara Alvi passed away after a brief illness and the news has been confirmed by the family and loved ones.
