Gulbahar is a Hum TV prime-time drama series directed by the acclaimed Mehreen Jabbar and written by Aliya Bukhari. Gulbahar offers a typical Pakistani drama storyline in which a husband opts for a second marriage to have a child after his wife fails to conceive due to infertility. The drama series is getting a decent 2.5 million views on YouTube; however, its story is still receiving backlash for being outdated and repetitive, with many saying it is a copy of Humnasheen and Shak.
Atiqa Odho, who is a brilliant actor and a judge on the TV review show Kya Drama Hai, criticized the trashy storyline of the drama series Gulbahar.
Atiqa Odho said, “The story is not progressing; it is now stuck at the same point. Also, I don’t understand why they have shown clownish proposals for Dia, and that too in abundance. One after another, weird proposals are coming her way. Why does she have such a poor fortune. I mean, she is a pretty young woman, so you would expect good rishtas for her, but here she is getting useless proposals and her Appa is after her. She doesn’t keep her mouth shut. What’s wrong with Appa?”
