Recently, Azaan Sami Khan appeared in Rabia Mughni’s YouTube show, where he opened up about student-teacher love track in Main Manto Nahi Hoon.
Talking about it, Azaan Sami Khan said, “I had a massive crush on my teacher when I was in school. I used to attend all her classes and always sat in the front row. I think most boys can relate to this. As for Mehmal and Manto, I don’t think it’s clear that what they share is love. It’s too early to pass judgment. From what I’ve seen of Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s script, certain parts are deliberately kept hidden, so we don’t fully know yet. Still, it’s good that there’s debate around it, and judgments should be made holistically.”
He further added, “This particular question should really be answered by the makers, because they know best. From my perspective, there hasn’t been anything that shows it’s love. Yes, he is a sweet, soft, and kind person, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s in love. He might just be too kind—or even afraid—to refuse her. There has to be a reason, and honestly, I’m not in a position to give a definitive answer. I trust Nadeem Baig’s moral compass, and if the script suggests such an angle, I believe he has the ability to balance it well. But let me clarify: it doesn’t really come across as love. It seems more like a girl who is simply infatuated with her teacher.”
