Recently, Rizwan Ali Jafri appeared on Fuchsia Magazine’s YouTube show, where he opened up about his arranged marriage.
Talking about it, Rizwan Ali Jafri said, “I had a completely arranged marriage. A friend once told me that mothers know their children better than the children themselves because they have been watching them since childhood. A mother knows your habits, and while searching for a life partner, she tries to find someone whose habits match yours. So, I left the decision to my mother. She considered many proposals and eventually chose my wife, who is a doctor by profession and also my second cousin. I had never met her before and didn’t really know her, although I was familiar with her siblings. Our engagement happened quite unexpectedly. My parents casually told me that we were going to Islamabad, and she also had no idea about it. Only her siblings knew what was happening. When we reached her house, my mother pointed her out and asked me what I thought of her. Before that, I had only seen her picture, and I was a bit skeptical, so my mother arranged a meeting. We spent some time at their home, and while we were returning to Lahore, my brother asked me about my decision. I already knew she was the one because I had always said that I would marry someone who simply clicked with me. She is an amazing woman, and I have a loving family.”
