Benita David is a renowned Pakistani actress who began her career through modelling. She is widely recognized for her appearance in the hit sitcom Bulbulay. Her other notable dramas include College, Kala Jadu, Meri Maa, Mera Kya Qasur, and Main Soteli, among others. She often appears as a guest on Nida Yasir’s morning show. Benita David is Sunita Marshall’s first cousin, is married to Axger Ali, and is the mother of a son. Benita belongs to the proud Christian community of Pakistan.
Recently, she appeared in a podcast hosted by Mathira. In the podcast, Benita opened up about living in Pakistan as a Christian.
Benita David said, “We (the Christian community) celebrate Eid, Eid ul Adha, Christmas, and Easter. As Christians, we celebrate four Eids. We celebrate all our events. We have received so much protection in Pakistan. Pakistan has safeguarded our beliefs. All minorities have had their rights fulfilled; we have received work, respect, and protection from Pakistan. My husband also doesn’t like weird questions being asked about it on TV shows.”
Mathira also added, “I find it weird when they question Christian celebrities on podcasts, like when Nadir Ali was questioning Sunita about her beliefs. Likewise, I found Nadia Khan’s question to Hassan about celebrating Christmas strange. Even I celebrate Christmas.” Watch here:
