Biryani is an ARY Digital romantic comedy drama series produced by Fahad Mustafa and Dr. Ali Kazmi under the banner of Big Bang Productions. It is written by Zafar Mairaj—who previously penned Kabli Pulao and Dampukht—and directed by Cheekh fame Badar Mehmood. The story follows an innocent and obedient boy who falls in love with an educated, lively girl he meets at university. The cast includes Ramsha Khan, Khushhal Khan, Sarwat Gilani, Yousaf Bashir Qureshi, Javed Rizvi, Mahnoor Parvez, Farzana Munir, Laila Wasti, and others.
So far, three episodes of Biryani have aired on ARY Digital. The first episode introduced the characters, while the second and third highlighted significant developments: Nisa is tasked by her professor to teach the son of a wealthy landlord who also has stakes in the university. Although Nisa agrees in front of her professor to teach Meer Miran but secretly makes an evil plan with her uncle (mamu) to torture the boy, Meer Miran so that he runs on his own. The drama viewers aren’t happy with the toxic track of Nissa and Mamu. Many are saying that they didn’t expect the writer like Zafar Mairaj to have written characters and situations like these which educate others to be unethical instead of being honest. Many are saying that no family in Pakistan will behave like this with a guest, the way Nissa’s family is doing. One wrote, “Pathetic behavior with the decent guy.
